The Lost Glamour of Ski Minne

This is my latest effort.  It is along the Bullwheel trail in what people who don’t know any better call the Peter’ s Kill Area at Minnewaska State Park. For some of us, that is a silly name for what will always be Ski Minne, the Phillips family’s doomed attempt to grasp the golden ring of glamorous outdoor recreation. 

My sketch shows the the area that was the summit for the downhill ski trails at Ski Minne.  To  my teenage self, it was a hint at a glorious future that lay before us.  To my adult self, it is a continual reminder that some things  work better as faded memories, lost to time.
