15 Jan The Unexpected Solace of Frost
We have yet to have a lot of snow this winter. But there have been some really cold mornings brightened by frost. (Click on the image to enlarge.) Before this, I’ve never really thought much about frost, other than an as icy nuisance that has to be scraped off windshields.
But it has a beauty all its own, leaving the world encased in a delicate crystalline fabric. It brings a stillness to the landscape. And in that stillness you can see the sleeping power of the earth. Thus, a touch of frost can be a reminder that we live in a world capable of continual rebirth, a notion that might serve us well in the days ahead.
