Ever wonder if a single painting could change your life?

Well, this is what happened to me:  I happened to fall into drawing and painting at an early age, and never knew why or what for. That is, until a visit to the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) about 40 years ago.

Knowing little about art and nothing about Canadian art, I just stumbled around until I came face to face with Lawren Harris’s “Above Lake Superior.” And, somehow, I suddenly understood what I was supposed to do with this art stuff. This is a postcard that I bought on that day to remind me.

All these years later and I’m still trying to live up to Harris’s summons thanks to the inspiration provided by him, Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven.
