Sometimes, You Just Have to Try Something

Sometimes, You Just Have to Try Something

I recently saw an exhibit of Scots painter Adam Bruce Thompson.  Actually, here’s the way it really worked:  we were on our way to catch a train, and happened to walk by the building where the exhibit was being held. I saw a poster featuring one of his works.  Next thing I knew, I was inside, marveling at his paintings.  These things happen.

After becoming established as an artist in the 1920s, Thompson increasingly incorporated cubist and abstract elements in his landscapes.  So, under his inspiration, I wondered if I could create a landscape by essentially piling polygons one on top of another.  The result: “Morning, Lenape Lane.”  (Click on the image to enlarge.)  I haven’t quite decided what to make of it.

Let me know what you think!
