16 Dec Farewell 2024. . . & Ideas for Holiday Giving
At year’s end, it’s often the quiet moments that linger in memory. I was once wandering in the woods in Montpelier’s Hubbard Park and, after a few hours, broke into a clearing at sunset. The scene was perfectly still, bathed in a soft golden light and the air almost seemed filled with music of a sort. That brief moment still haunts me 40 years later. (This image is the latest of many failed attempts to capture it from memory–I’ll keep trying). As 2024 draws to a close, it might be worth savoring its small, still moments.
And thanks to all of you who purchased the calendar in support of the Wallkill Valley Land Trust. Sales have been brisk at Handmade! (It’s also online at Etsy.)
And speaking of support, please consider donating to organizations that help preserve our area’s beauty and qualify of life.
You can follow the links to donate:

Finally, I’ve found Arts Mid-Hudson to be a real resource for artists in the area and worthy of support. You can donate by clicking here.
Happy Holidays!
