15 Jan Return of the Swamp Thing
Another installment in my ongoing fascination with the beavers’ handiwork in the Millbrook Preserve. Last time, the image highlighted the melancholy stillness that pervades these places. But, as Emerson pointed out, they also sing. And, if you keep still long enough, you can feel its music animate the landscape (easier to do in November, after the mosquitos are gone.) This image explores that. (Click on it to enlarge.)
I also wanted to share some thanks: over the holidays, we sold 62 calendars, raising $250 for the Wallkill Valley Land Trust! Thank you to all who purchased one (or more) and special thanks to Melinda Minervini of Handmade & More who generously carried them throughout the holiday season at a low markup! A wonderful start to the New Year!
